GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — If you see a large presence of law enforcement and first responders at Lambeau Field this week and next week, don’t be alarmed.
Joint training exercises are underway at 1265 Lombardi Avenue, in partnership between the Green Bay Packers and local and regional public safety and emergency services.
According to the Packers:
The community can expect an increased presence of first responders, fire trucks, police cruisers and medical vehicles in and around Lambeau Field during the week of June 15 as training sessions continue. In addition to Monday’s fire training, crews are participating in EMS scenarios designed to simulate incidents that could occur on gameday or throughout the year at Lambeau Field. These trainings reflect the Packers’ and their emergency response partners’ ongoing commitment to preparedness, coordination and public safety.
On Thursday, the Green Bay Police Department posted on Facebook to refute “a false social media post that is circulating regarding reports of an explosion at Lambeau Field.”
GBPD went on to say, “This is a multi-jurisdictional training exercise with the Green Bay Packers and law enforcement. There is no real incident at the stadium.”
