GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The city of Green Bay says the month of May brought record ridership to Bay Beach Amusement Park.
Green Bay Parks Director Dan Ditscheit credits the record May to a number of factors, including:
- Good weather
- A better ride uptime percentage
- An increase in school groups attending
- Strong Memorial Day weekend
The park opened for the season on May 2. It will remain open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. every day, with limited exceptions, until Aug. 16. The park will adjust to 10 a.m.-6 p.m. hours Aug. 17-Sept. 1, and then will only be open on weekends through the end of September.
The record May comes as the park introduced paid parking for premium spots. The 70 closest spots now carry a $7 daily fee.
