GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – NFL Draft organizers have released tentative locations for rideshare and shuttle bus drop offs and pick ups.
Part of St. Agnes Drive, near Lambeau Field, is one of two locations currently zoned for where people will need to go if they want to use a rideshare service during the NFL Draft.
“It don’t bother me,” said Mary Stiegler, who lives on St. Agnes. “I’ll just stock up on my groceries.”
Stiegler plans to park cars in her yard during the draft, and isn’t worried her street could be filled with Uber, Lyft or any other taxi-like service.
“I’m just going to stay here and watch,” said Stiegler. “I’m not going to get out there because I can’t walk that good anymore.”
St. Agnes from Ridge Road to Fisk Street will be the rideshare zone on the west side of the draft campus. Reggie White Way from Lombardi to Tony Canadeo Run will be the zone on the east side.
“So you won’t just be able to grab an Uber or Lyft from anywhere you are,” said Nick Meisner of Discover Green Bay. “It’ll have to be inside of a certain zone to be able to get picked up. That just keeps the traffic plan moving in a specific way.”
Meisner says Discover Green Bay has so far identified 126 charter buses that will be coming to the draft on the event’s first day. 99 on the second day and 72 on the final day.
There are three drop off locations for shuttle and charter services. One is on Lombardi Avenue between Argonne Street and Military Venue, another on Bart Starr Drive between Lombardi Ave and Tony Canadeo Run, and a third on Mike McCarthy Way between Bart Starr Drive and Holmgren Way.
“If everyone follows the directions, the traffic pattern those amazing professionals came up with will be I think well received and I think we’ll keep things moving,” said Meisner.
Right now, Cabela’s parking lot is the only designated location for charter and shuttle pick up, however, organizers warn that doesn’t necessarily mean they will all be there. It’s recommended you verify with your provider where they’ll be located for pick up.
“The plan is really well refined and I’m really, really confident in it,” said Jon Barker, NFL Global Head of Major Events.
Draft organizers stress the designated pick up and drop off locations could still change.
