APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Appleton Area School District Board of Education is looking for community members to serve on its Financial Planning Committee Advisory Group.
The committee has been meeting publicly to identify key financial drivers, benchmarks and desired outcomes that will guide the district’s long-term financial planning efforts. It comes after AASD was facing a $13 million annual deficit before voters passed a $60 million referendum in April.
The advisory group will meet with the Financial Planning Committee, composed of school board members, approximately 4-5 times between June and October. Members will “provide valuable perspectives, insights and information to help the committee” as it develops recommendations and puts together a comprehensive five-year financial outlook for the district.
Community members interested in serving are encouraged to apply to “contribute to discussions that will help shape the district’s financial future.” Applications for the advisory group must be submitted by June 6. Click here to apply.
