(WTAQ-WLUK) — The race for Wisconsin governor remains a statistical dead heat, according to a Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday.
According to the poll, 49% of likely voters said they would vote for Democrat David Crowley, while 46% backed Republican Tom Tiffany. Five percent remained undecided. The difference between Crowley and Tiffany was within the poll’s 4.8-percentage-point margin of error for likely voters.
The last poll in August showed Crowley with a 49%-44% lead among likely voters.
Both candidates were underwater in favorability, with 31% having a favorable view of Crowley and 44% an unfavorable view. His unfavorability rose 15 points since August, with his favorability declining two points. Tiffany’s favorability was more stable, with 39% favorable — no change — and 45% unfavorable, up three points from August.
The latest poll interviewed 843 Wisconsin voters, of which 692 were identified as likely voters, from Sept. 16-23.
