Fire at Players Pizza & Pub in Oshkosh. PC: Fox 11 Online
OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A fire has closed an Oshkosh business.
Around 9:49 p.m. Wednesday, crews were called to Players Pizza & Pub at 556 W. 5th Avenue.
Upon arrival, firefighters saw flames coming from the building’s eaves.
Fire crews quickly deployed hose lines and worked to attempt to contain and extinguish the fire. Fire crews ultimately had to deploy two ladder trucks to bring the fire under control and remained on scene for several hours, checking for remaining hot spots and assisting with overhaul operations.
Players Pizza & Pub posted an update on Facebook late Wednesday night saying everyone was able to make it out of the building. No one was hurt responding to the fire.
The restaurant will be closed for the time being.
Fire investigators are continuing to examine the scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
People are asked to avoid the area around Ohio Street and 5th Avenue while fire teams and law enforcement remain on scene.
