(LEARFIELD) – This week’s start of Packers training camp finds some rookies working with the starters.
Cornerback Brandon Cisse is practicing with the first team while Keisean Nixon is out with a hamstring injury.
Jager Burton has shown coaches enough to use him as a swing interior lineman, though he had to step away from practice when he tweaked his hamstring.
One non-rookie getting attention is running back MarShawn Lloyd.
He’s battled injuries his first two seasons, but he looked quick while scoring a touchdown in practice.
He should be Josh Jacobs’ backup.
LaFleur talks defense: Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur spent time talking about a trio of defensive players yesterday.
First, he said that he was excited about about Zaire Franklin.
LaFleur spoke on getting Isaiah McDuffie extended as well.
And what does he like about second-round pick cornerback Brandon Cisse?
As for what was going on in team drills, LaFleur said a lot of cat-and- mouse was being played by the offense and defense in team drills, dictated by Jonathan Gannon’s defense.
Getting offensive: On the offensive side of the ball, LaFleur talked about the progress of second-year wide receiver Savion Williams.
LaFleur talked about whether or not he wants to shuffle backup offensive linemen around in Training Camp.

And LaFleur said that wide receiver Matthew Golden is figuring things out quite well
