GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — No one was hurt or killed after a house fire on Green Bay’s west side, but 3 people and a dog were displaced.
Just before 12:45 Thursday afternoon, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department was sent to the 1200 block of Desnoyers Street for reports of smoke and flames coming from a house. First responders saw a visible plume of smoke on the way to the scene.
The first group to arrive saw heavy smoke billowing from the home’s roof. One crew performed roof ventilation, confirming the fire was primarily in the attic. The occupants, including the dog were found safely evacuated.
Crews successfully extinguished the fire and protected nearby homes.
Green Bay Metro Fire Department estimates $100,000 in damage to the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
