(247NEWSSOURCE/LEARFIELD) LEARFIELD – The Athetics’s scored four unanswered runs to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 in Las Vegas Wednesday night.
Alika Williams and Carlos Cortes each hit solo home runs and Lawrence Butler added a two-run shot in the victory.
Scott Barlow earned the win in relief and Elvis Alvarado locked down the save.
The A’s improved to 33-and-35 with the win.
Gary Sanchez and Jackson Chourio each homered in the Milwaukee setback.
Chad Patrick surrendered three runs in the seventh inning without recording an out to get the loss.
Brandon Sproat started and pitched well for Milwaukee. He allowed 1 run over 6 innings, walking 1 and striking out 3.
Sproat said that it was probably his best start of the season so far.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about Sproat’s outing.
Murphy also talked about blowing a 3-1 lead in the game and dropping 2 of 3 games in Las Vegas.
The Brewers have dropped back-to-back games to fall to 41-and-25 on the year.
The Brewers have the day off on Thursday before opening a weekend home series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
