(247NEWSSOURCE) – The Wisconsin football team landed a high-profile recruit for its 2027 recruiting class.
Four-star defensive back Mekhi Williams committed to the Badgers on Wednesday.
The Ruskin, Florida native is the 107th-ranked player by 247Sports and chose UW over offers from LSU and Nebraska, among others.
Recruiting class ranking: One rating service puts the Wisconsin football recruiting class of 2027 in the top 20 nationwide.
The Badgers have 16 commits for the class after signing up three-star cornerback Royalton Allen.
Wisconsin checks in at number-18.
The class is ranked right in the middle of the Big Ten, ninth, showing the conference’s status as a leader.
The biggest commitment in the class comes from four-star quarterback Jack Sorgi. Last year, the Badgers were ranked below the top 60 classes.
