MADISON, Wis. (May 22, 2026) – The Wisconsin FFA Foundation is excited to announce that the Wisconsin FFA License Plate Campaign has officially moved into the design phase, marking the next major milestone in bringing a specialty license plate to vehicles across the state.
This specialty license plate will proudly represent agriculture, Wisconsin, and FFA. Earlier this year, the campaign was launched with the generous support of the Elkhorn FFA Alumni & Supporters, who funded the initial fee required to begin the license plate creation process. From there, 500 signatures were collected from individuals across the state showing their support for the effort. The DMV approved the signatures, allowing the Wisconsin FFA to move into the next phase of the process.
As part of the design phase, the Wisconsin FFA Foundation will host a license plate design contest for all to participate in. Submissions must be submitted by July 1, 2026. The template and submission form can be found here: https://forms.gle/J8RavmCCNC4H8hyH6
All submissions must follow DMV design guidelines, including maintaining required text areas, using the official Wisconsin logo type without modification, and keeping specified background areas white. Full design requirements are available here: https://wisconsinaged.org/docs/FFA%20Foundation/Plate%20design%20requirments%201.pdf
Once approved and available for purchase, each Wisconsin FFA specialty license plate will include a $25 annual donation to the Wisconsin FFA Foundation. The total plate cost will be $125, which includes required vehicle registration and issuance fees, along with the contribution supporting FFA programs and members across Wisconsin.
The winning design will be refined in collaboration with the Wisconsin FFA Foundation and converted into a final digital format for production.
The Foundation believes this specialty license plate will provide a long-term way for supporters to showcase their pride in Wisconsin agriculture while directly supporting the future of FFA. To stay up on this campaign, visit here: https://wisconsinaged.org/license-plate-campaign.
