MARINETTE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Eight people were arrested and several kinds of drugs were seized during a law enforcement operation Friday in Marinette County.
145 traffic stops were made throughout the day, officials said Wednesday, with 43 K9 deployments. 138 individuals received warnings, 26 citations were issued and eight people were taken into custody.
Recommended charges include possession and delivery of methamphetamine, possession of illegally-obtained prescription drugs and cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, in addition to operating while intoxicated and probation and parole violations.
The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the operation by the Marinette Police Department, Niagara Police Department, Florence County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Crivitz Police Department, Peshtigo Police Department, Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, Oconto Falls Police Department, Oconto Police Department, the KIND drug team from Michigan and the Menominee, Michigan County Sheriff’s Office.
