OMRO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Three unrelated deaths in Omro are sending shockwaves through the school district community. A third grader, a kindergartener, and an athletic trainer died last week.
The third grader was 10-year-old Levi. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2017.
On a Facebook page titled “Levi Strong,” his parents shared a post last week about his passing. In the post, his parents say Levi gave the gift of life to others through organ donation.

FThe athletic trainer was 54-year-old Matthew Bekkedal.
District superintendent Jay Jones provided a statement saying in part:
We are grateful for the kindness and support shown within and around the Omro community. The members of the school community that died had a profound impact on our students, staff, and families; our hearts go out to all who are grieving. In times like these the strength and care within the Omro Foxes Family is evident; our focus remains on caring for one another and the families in our community.
The school district said that it is providing care to those impacted through inside and outside counselors.
