(WTAQ-WLUK) – Former Outagamie County Human Resources Director Adam Westbrook’s attempt to withdraw his guilty plea on a federal count of producing child pornography was denied, and he is now scheduled to be sentenced May 15.
Westbrook was convicted in September, 2024, for actions at a Sauk County hotel. Investigators discovered evidence he took and shared videos of a pre-pubescent boy earlier that year.
Sentencing was scheduled for December, but Westbook sought permission to withdraw the plea.
“The bottom line is that the additional facts from the defense do not undermine the court’s conclusion that, at the time Westbrook entered his plea, he understood that the two charged videos were depictions of a child engaged in sexually explicit conduct,” wrote Judge James Peterson.
The judge also rejected Westbook’s arguments that the statute was unconstitutionally vague to determine if the images were lascivious.
The ruling was filed last week.
Westbrook resigned from his county position after his arrest.
Westbrook allegedly sent videos to Preston Kite, of Racine. Kite was sentenced to 65 years in prison for various child pornography-related counts.
