WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A fire that started in a detached garage caused extensive damage to a nearby home in Waupaca.
Around 3:51 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters were dispatched to a garage fire on Elm Street.
When crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage with fire extending to a nearby residence.
At the time of the fire, no one was inside the residence. Three cats were inside the home and were safely removed. There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.
Crews cleared the scene at 6:56 p.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
