GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Packers quarterback Jordan Love helped the Salvation Army of Brown County score a big win Monday night.
Hundreds of fans filled the Lambeau Field Atrium for the Packers’ third and final charity fundraiser of the holiday season, receiving an autograph from Love in exchange for a $100 donation to the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign.
“To help people that are in need, that need a lot more than us — anything we can do to help is huge,” Love said. “To be able to raise money just by doing something as small as signing autographs for people in the community… It’s awesome.”
Autographs were limited to 300 people on a first-come, first-served basis, with numbered tickets distributed to those in line. Love said he was amazed by the turnout.
“It shows how much the fanbase is behind the team and wants to help raise money for the Salvation Army. I think it’s an awesome thing.”
For many years, Packers players have signed autographs in exchange for donations to the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign. This important holiday tradition in the Green Bay community allows many of the organization’s programs to operate due to the money received through Red Kettle donations. All proceeds raised go toward aiding needy families, seniors and the homeless in Green Bay.
Kenny Clark, Elgton Jenkins, Isaiah McDuffie and Jonathan Owens signed autographs at the first event. Romeo Doubs and Kingsley Enagbare were the featured guests at the second autograph session.
