ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A piece of history will be rolling down the tracks at the National Railroad Museum.
The museum’s Sumter & Choctaw#102 locomotive will be leading train rides Thursday and Friday this week.
The #102, a Mikado class locomotive, was built in 1924 by Baldwin and spent several years hauling lumber in Alabama. It had a brush with fame many years later in 2005, the Jeopardy! TV gameshow visited the National Railroad Museum and featured #102 in one of its categories, airing Feb. 2, 2006.
Train rides are scheduled for 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. on both May 25 & 26.
Tickets can be purchased in advance online or in person at the museum.
