GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Abdullahi Ali was charged Friday with first-degree reckless injury for allegedly stabbing his father at a Green Bay mosque last month.
An initial court appearance is scheduled for Friday afternoon.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the Islamic Society of Wisconsin on Velp Avenue on Feb. 22. Several people had subdued Ali. The victim, identified as Ali’s father, suffered at five stab wounds.
The victim told police he and his son were at the doctor earlier in the day to treat the son’s schizophrenia.
“The two went to the mosque to pray and while he was in the prayer room, Abdullahi attacked him from behind with a knife,” the complaint states.
