MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Manitowoc Public School District is set to require face masking while inside.
Superintendent Mark Holzman said he is requiring masks because, while he can run a school with half of its students, he cannot run a school in-person with half of its staff. He also says that universal masking can result in less quarantining for students and staff.
Some board members were against the recommendation, arguing that a form of communication through facial expressions is lost when a mask is on.

Holzman said a notice will be sent to parents by Wednesday night.
