MADISON, WI (WRN) – State health officials are urging families to get their 12-to-15 year-olds vaccinated against the coronavirus.
The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine can now be administered to those kids. Deputy Health Services Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk says it’s safe and effective
“In the clinical trials for this age group, nobody who received the vaccine was infected with COVID-19.”
Chief medical officer, Dr. Ryan Westergaard, says his 12-year-old son is being vaccinated
“It’s a very positive thing, and our family and our community will be better off when we can get more young people vaccinated.”
The Director of the CDC on Wednesday signed off on the agency’s vaccine advisory committee approval of the Pfizer vaccine for the age group.
