OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Prosecutors will not file charges “at this time” against the mother and brother of Dezman Ellis, the suspect in the murder at Fox River Mall.
Ellis, 17, allegedly shot and killed Jovanni Frausto in a dispute about a girlfriend on Jan. 31. After the shooting, he fled to Iowa, where he was arrested.
Earlier this week, police arrested his mother and brother, alleging they assisting in his eluding of police.
An initial court appearance was scheduled for Thursday afternoon. However, the office of District Attorney Melinda Tempelis said charges will not be filed at this time.
No reason was cited.
As of 1:45 p.m. Thursday, the two were still in the jail, according to jail staff.
