GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Dec. 14 trial for a Green Bay murder suspect has been postponed because the defense attorney’s license is being suspended by the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Brion Hatcher, 33, allegedly killed Tavarious Edwards during a Jan. 27 incident at a home on George Street.
Hatcher was scheduled to stand trial next month. However, last week the Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended attorney Scott Anderson’s license for 60 days, effective Dec. 9, for inattention to client needs.
No new trial was scheduled. Instead of during jury selection on Dec. 11, the parties will discuss the case’s status and scheduling, if a new attorney is appointed by then.
According to the criminal complaint, witnesses told authorities Hatcher believed Edwards stole $1,000 from him. However, when speaking with police, Hatcher denied having any problem with Edwards or involvement in his murder. Edwards died from a gunshot wound in the neck.
