OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Oshkosh Public Museum has two new exhibits that will feature beautiful gemstones as part of the Chicago Collects: Jewelry in Perspective and Land of Oz: Beyond the Page.
The magical Land of Oz lands in Oshkosh. This small boutique exhibition takes visitors beyond the story and into the imagination, artistry, and design that brought Oz to life.
Guests can see rare artifacts, original illustrations, costumes, and film memorabilia inspired by L. Frank Baum’s beloved story, including a replica of Dorothy’s Ruby Red Slippers, a Flying Monkey costume prototype, Emerald City imagery, and more. Explore the artistic creation behind the classic 1939 film and L. Frank Baum’s original story.
The other exhibit at the museum includes more than 200 exceptional pieces from Chicago museums and private collectors. This collection is organized by the Richard H. Driehaus Museum and Guest-curated by Elyse Zorn Karlin. The exhibit features works connected to Fabergé, Lalique, Louis Comfort Tiffany, and major design movements from the 19th century through today.
