MENASHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Menasha is asking residents to place their construction materials on the curb before this Friday, Aug. 28, which will be the final pickup.
Construction materials includes siding, roof shingles, wood, fencing and other loose building materials damaged by the tornado.
Pickup of organic materials, things like trees, branches and bushes, will continue beyond that.
“We’re still analyzing and assessing how long we’re going to have the DTAK (private contracted service) crews continue to pick that up,” said Mayor Austin Hammond.
The city will not be able to collect bulky items, like furniture or tires. Those can go through the city’s bulky item program.
Hammond urges residents to follow the City of Menasha Government Facebook page for updates.
The city of Menasha will notify residents before it ends its emergency cleanup of organic materials.
Neenah to make final pickup of all materials next week
The city of Neenah will make its final pickup next week, beginning Monday, Aug. 31, at 6 a.m.
This will be the final pickup of organic (trees, branches, etc.) and construction materials (siding, roof shingles, construction wood, fencing). After next Friday, residents may be responsible for their own removal.
The City of Menasha is still in need of volunteers, both individuals and teams, to assist with critical tornado recovery efforts over the next several days.

Fox Crossing finished picking up construction debris, organic material continues
The Village of Fox Crossing announced its final pickup of construction materials was last Friday, Aug. 21., but it will continue to pick up organic debris until Sept. 11.
Town of Neenah finished collecting all debris
The town of Neenah is done collecting all storm debris, it is now the resident’s responsibility.
Hazardous materials can be turned in on Sept. 3
Residents with hazardous materials to dispose of can drop them off at the Jefferson Park Boat Launch on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 1-5 p.m.
