(LEARFIELD/GREEN BAY PACKERS) – The Green Bay Packers fly off to Pittsburgh today to take on the Steelers in the pre-season opener for the 2 teams on Thursday.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur talked about a number of things on Tuesday including Keisean Nixon not getting all the first-team reps.
LaFleur talked about game planning for pre-season games.
LaFleur also talked about what they like about cornerback Benjamin St-Juste.
As for quarterback Jordan Love, LaFleur said that Love will play.

In comparing Love with Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, LaFleur said that Love is the best he’s been around at the line of scrimmage.

New uniforms: The Packers are set to debut their Rivalries uniforms this season in a week 5 game against the Chicago Bears.
The game, presented by American Family Insurance, will be Sunday, Oct. 11, and is scheduled to kick off at 3:25 p.m. on FOX.
Rivalries, a league-wide Nike and NFL initiative, began in 2025 and is aimed at elevating NFL rivalry games through specially designed Nike uniforms and fan gear. This season, each team from the NFC North and AFC South will be wearing newly designed uniforms for a home game against a division rival.
More information about the Rivalries uniforms, including design details and accompanying fan merchandise, will be shared soon.

Roster moves: The Green Bay Packers have signed safety Trey Dean III and safety Tra Fluellen and released tight end Drew Biber and guard Karsen Barnhart. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Tuesday.
Dean (6-2, 201), a first-year player out of the University of Florida, originally signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023 and spent his rookie year on the Jets’ practice squad. Dean spent part of the 2024 offseason with the Kansas City Chiefs and part of the 2024 season on the practice squad of the Cleveland Browns. He has spent two seasons in the UFL, playing for the DC Defenders in 2025 and for the Louisville Kings and St. Louis Battlehawks in 2026. Dean will wear No. 35 for the Packers.
Fluellen (6-0, 212), a first-year player out of Middle Tennessee State, was originally signed to the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad on Dec. 9, 2024, and was released by the Saints during the 2025 offseason. In 2026, he played for the Dallas Renegades of the UFL. Fluellen was named honorable mention All-Conference USA in each of his final two seasons (2022-23). He will wear No. 48 for the Packers.
