Willie Wallace (Winnebago Co. Jail)
WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Neenah man was arrested and booked in Menasha for a warrant out of Indiana on Monday morning.
Neenah police said 26-year-old Willie Wallace has a warrant for homicide and attempted armed robbery in Lake County, Indiana. An officer saw Wallace’s vehicle leaving his house and followed him to the McDonalds on Racine Street where officers from both the Menasha and Neenah police departments arrested him.
He was booked into Winnebago County Jail. He has no local charges.
Officer Joe Benoit with Neenah Police said the use of Flock cameras aided in the arrest.
“An alert was put on the Flock system so when this suspect with the homicide warrant passed by a camera it would alert officers. In this case, officers saw the vehicle leaving the residence so we were able to apprehend the subject without that tool, but certainly it is a very valuable tool for law enforcement,” Benoit said.
Benoit added the Lake County Sheriff’s Office will confirm the arrest and begin the extradition process to Indiana.
