UPDATE: The Wisconsin DNR has extended Saturday’s Air Quality Alert into Monday. Instead of ending Sunday at Noon it will now end at Noon Monday.

(WTAQ-WLUK) — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued an Air Quality Advisory today from Noon to Sunday at Noon.
According to an alert from the DNR, Canadian wildfire smoke will continue to impact Wisconsin’s surface air quality this weekend.
A mix of “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” Air Quality Index and “Unhealthy” Air Quality Index is forecast for today. The DNR says heavier smoke is expected across northern and eastern Wisconsin while lighter impacts are likely for southern and western counties.
The department recommends people with asthma should follow their action plan and keep quick-relief medicine nearby.
People with heart disease should watch for symptoms such as shortness of breath or unusual fatigue.
Everybody else is recommended to keep outdoor activities shorter and less intense.
