GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Greater Green Bay Chamber is hoping to get out the message better on what it has to offer.
It unveiled a rebranding initiative Tuesday that has been two years in the making, according to Chamber President and CEO Laurie Radke.
The Greater Green Bay Chamber decided it was time for a change after hearing from some of its nearly 1,200 members.
“We’ve been hearing different feedback about what does the chamber all do, what is your story, how are you modernizing,” said Radke.
Radke says it’s been more than 10 years since the chamber changed its name and even longer since the logo was different.
A new logo, tagline, and marketing campaign is aimed to better connect the community with what the chamber does.
“What we’re changing is really telling our story,” said Radke. “I think you can be humble at some point about your deliverables but really letting people know that we’re here, we’re serving.”
Programs like Partners in Education and Current Young Professionals won’t change, but a goal is to make them more identifiable as parts of the chamber.
“Some of this is going to require a marketing campaign to educate everybody, but it starts with having the right message and the logo to share that every single offering you’re seeing now is connected,” said Vinith Poduval, an executive vice president at Shreiber Foods.
Poduval says one of the most important benefits Schreiber sees from the chamber is in talent attraction and retention.
“They have a great way of saying, ‘you go do the hunt and we will make sure we settle them into the community’,” said Poduval. “There’s a concierge program, so if folks are not entirely sure if the Green Bay area is right for them and their families, they do a great job of spending some time and educating the would-be employee to say this is what the community has to offer and welcome them.”
A hope is the rebrand will not only create better engagement, but also grow membership.
Greater Green Bay Chamber members pay an annual fee that is dependent on industry and the size of the company.
The chamber says its membership numbers have held steady with 80 percent being companies smaller than 50 employees.
