BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Just in time for summer, a long-awaited boat launch on Green Bay’s northeast side is ready for the public.
The Brown County Parks Department has now officially opened the H.J. DeBaker Eagles Nest Park & Boat Launch, 3265 Nicolet Dr., Tuesday morning.
Brown County bought the land five years ago, with plans to turn the former Eagles Nest Supper Club site into the park.
The new facility includes a seven-foot-deep harbor that boats can use for shelter during storms. There are four launch lanes, 71 boat trailer parking stalls, 19 single-vehicle parking spots and a boat wash for preventing the spread of invasive species. The boat launch is engineered to accommodate 18-to-22-foot-long boats.
Walkways onto the jetty and breakwater of the park on the east shore of Green Bay promise clear views of the sunset over the water.
No swimming is allowed at the site.
