APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A memorial to Wisconsin’s Vietnam War veterans was dedicated Wednesday.
Vets & Friends Coffee House sponsored the project. It is a 17-panel wall that aims to feature photos of the 1,249 Wisconsin veterans who died in the war.
“We dedicate this wall in memory of every name etched upon it,” said Wisconsin Veterans Home (WDVA) Secretary James Bond at a Wednesday ceremony. “The ones who never made it home, whose valor and sacrifice will never be forgotten.”
The memorial is located at 2508 N. Richmond St.
Wednesday is the 50th anniversary of the fall of Saigon, marking the end of the war.
