GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The NFL Draft Experience opens at noon Thursday, and the campus is the size of 70 football fields — meaning there will be plenty of NFL-related activities with some Wisconsin flavor.
Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy cut the ceremonial ribbon Wednesday at the Packers Everywhere Draft Haus. The Wisconsin dive bar-themed venue is offering football fans a true taste of Wisconsin.
According to Murphy, “Most of the other cities where the draft has been held, it’s downtown — a very different atmosphere from here and being right next to Lambeau Field. I’ve been able to look into Lambeau, and seeing all that they’re doing there, I think people are going to love it.”
The Draft Haus is just part of the NFL Draft Experience’s massive footprint. There will be food and drinks and other items from more than 80 Wisconsin vendors.
“This is the first time the NFL opened up this program to be statewide, so we’re really excited to see that involvement from outside areas,” said Myisha Boyce, the NFL source lead.
Games and activities, like the 40 yard dash, are set up in Titletown.
Super Bowl rings, the Lombardi Trophy and plenty of autographs with current and former NFL players are on tap, too.
According to Nicki Ewell, senior director of events for the NFL, “Everything is free, except for whatever you buy at concessions or NFL shops, so really excited to open our doors.”
With so much to see and do, the NFL encourages people to visit the Draft Experience all three days.
