OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) — The brand new XRoads41 music festival kicks off Thursday and goes through Saturday at the Oshkosh Festival Grounds.
An event two years in the making; it comes after Country USA and Rock USA, which were also held at Oshkosh Festival Grounds, played their last events five years ago.
John Gourley, XRoads41 manager, says this event will be unlike anything held at Oshkosh Festival Grounds.
“We put a team together that works on the largest festivals in America,” said Gourley. “We have a ton of people who work on Stagecoach and Coachella, our security team has us as a client and also Taylor Swift. We picked the best of the best in the festival industry to sort of reimagine what festivals will be like in the future.”
XRoads41 has brought in a grandstand system used by Formula 1 racing and Coachella. No other Midwest festivals have used this kind of grandstand.
18 artists will perform over the course of the three days; with the headliners including Old Dominion, Brooks & Dunn and Journey. Gourley says it was important to them to incorporate all kinds of music in the festival…
“Hence the name XRoads41. This is the mix of genres. Journey hasn’t done a show with Brooks & Dunn before. The idea behind that is to hopefully get people to do some collaborations on stage like you might see at an awards show, only here you’re seeing it live.”
The planning phase of XRoads41 2025 has already begun; which is anticipated to run two weekends instead of one. While fans are enjoying this years show, they can purchase tickets for XRoads41 2025 beginning Thursday night. Headliners and other artists for next year are expected to be announced throughout the festival this weekend.
