GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Christmas is the perfect time to shop at local stores that offer one-of-a-kind gifts and experiences.
An area organization is spreading the word about the importance of supporting local black, indigenous, and people of color-owned businesses.
The ColorBold Business Association Shop BIPOC Campaign seeks to shine a light on underrepresented communities in northeast Wisconsin by encouraging people to shop at BIPOC owned businesses in northeast Wisconsin.
“Take a picture, tag the business owner, tag ColorBold and use the hashtag #ShopBIPOC,” said Ramona Hallmon, Board Chair at ColorBold. “On New Years Eve, we’re going to do a drawing and you could win a $100 gift card.”
One area store has tasty treat options for the holidays. Sharay’s Ghana-style nut brittle offers a variety of individual flavors and even a gift pack for those with a sweet tooth.
Tara Breathe has unique self-care services such as massage therapy, breathing awareness, and defense classes.
ColorBold is a resource for all entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders of color locally, nationally, and globally.
The organization encourages shoppers to use their dollar to make an impact during the holidays.
