MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman declined to say what was discussed during a closed session of the Board of Regents on Tuesday.
He also had nothing to say about reports that he threatened to resign, if Regents rejected a funding deal from Assembly Speaker Robin Vos.
“These are all closed session discussions, and I can’t comment,” said Rothman.
The meeting came two days after Regents narrowly rejected a deal that would have allowed the raises to go through, and provide funding for various projects including a new engineering hall on the Madison campus. In return, the UW would have paused diversity, equity and inclusion and administrative hires for three years, and restructured about 45 DEI positions.
