APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The suspect in a carjacking case was ordered Wednesday to stand trial.
Jay Scott, 51, waived a preliminary hearing on six counts, including carjacking, kidnapping, and armed robbery. He is scheduled to enter a plea Nov. 6.
According to the criminal complaint, Scott approached a woman and her child in a parking lot at a Grand Chute mall. He showed a knife, took her car keys, then drove off with the two in the vehicle. The woman and her four-year-old child were eventually able to escape and call police. Scott was later arrested.
