OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two non-profit organizations in the Fox Valley have been chosen as the recipients of $2.75 million in grant funds from Outagamie County.
First 5 Fox Valley (F5FV) and Child Care Resource & Referral, Inc. (CCR&R) were selected as the grantees through a competitive application-based process.
The awards are funded by Outagamie County’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars.
First 5 Fox Valley will receive $2 million to aid in the establishment of a family resource center in Outagamie County, envisioned as a “centralized hub” with other supporting locations throughout the county.
“The Family Resource Center will bring partner agencies together in a coordinated way to provide strength-based, universal services to families at free or low cost. Services are intended to build parental resilience, foster social connections between families, and support healthy child development,” a news release states.
Child Care Resource & Referral, Inc. will use its $750,000 grant to launch a child care essential services program designed to help parents and childcare providers save time and money by centralizing childcare services.
These services including staffing, substitutes, maintenance, janitorial, technological and educational support.
“Proposed services were identified based on an assessment of provider needs and a review of the existing shared services landscape in and beyond the county. Participating providers will be relieved of certain recurring financial expenses, allowing them to focus on establishing financial reserves without increasing tuition for parents.”
