GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Donald A. Tilleman Bridge — commonly known as the Mason Street Bridge — is scheduled to close next Tuesday for annual fall maintenance activities.
The bridge will be closed on Sept. 12 starting at 6 a.m. and should reopen at 2:30 p.m.
According to the city of Green Bay’s Public Works Department, motorists should be aware of the following traffic impacts:
- Roads closed east of the Fox River on East Mason Street at South Monroe Avenue
- Roads closed west of the Fox River on West Mason Street at South Ashland Avenue
- The detour is South Ashland Avenue, Walnut Street and South Monroe Avenue.
This announcement of maintenance comes just one day after a semi struck a pillar supporting the Tilleman Bridge.
Police say the Wisconsin Department of Transportation inspected the bridge and found no structural damage.
