APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Fox Valley marathon continues to make a difference in the community.
The Fox Cities Marathon announced it is donating $80,000 from last year’s events to more than a dozen local non-profits, including running groups, nursing and police/fire education programs and police departments.
In addition, the marathon made donations to 11 local high school cross-country teams and $5 from every 5K adult registration last year was donated to the St. Elizabeth Hospital Foundation, totaling $14,000.
Organizers are preparing to do it all over again with the 32nd Fox Cities Marathon, set for Sept. 15-17. Events include Kids Fun Run, Diaper Dash, Toddler Trot, 5K and 10K. Click here to register.
