OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The 2023 Winnebago County Fair came to a close Sunday.
From Wednesday through Sunday afternoon, it offered a wide range of family entertainment, including carnival rides, crafts, photography contests, food vendors, exhibitions of farm animals, rodeos, and music.
“I always loved when I was here and kids were looking in the horse stall and I’d be like, ‘Do you want to pet the horse?’ and they’d be a little scared at first and then finally touch their nose or touch the cow and their eyes just light up, it’s incredible,” Amanda Stone said. “To me that’s such an important part of life nowadays since people are so disconnected and so many generations away from where their food comes from and where everything comes from, this is just such a wonderful opportunity for people to have a hands-on approach to it.”
The Winnebago County Fair is a long-time Northeast Wisconsin tradition, making its debut in October of 1855.
