APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — More than $100,000 worth of damage was caused by a house fire in Appleton.
Crews were called to a two-story home in the 1400 block of North Appleton Street around 9 a.m. Thursday for a report of smoke coming from the roof.
Upon arrival, crews saw smoke coming from multiple roof vents.
Neighbors reported that the residents were not home.
Firefighters went inside the house to put out the fire and confirmed no one was inside.
No one was hurt and officials are working to determine a cause.
The Appleton Fire Department would like to remind residents to install working smoke alarms and to check their smoke alarms monthly.
