OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A community groundbreaking ceremony is set for Oshkosh’s new elementary school.
The new Menominee Elementary School will be constructed on the site of the former Webster Stanley Elementary and Middle School building, located at 915 Hazel Street.
The event will be Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. If needed, a rain date is scheduled for Tuesday, August 29 at 2 p.m.
The new elementary school is one component of the first phase of the District’s long-range facilities plan.
Slated to open for the 2024-2025 school year, Menominee Elementary School will become home to students currently enrolled at Merrill, Washington, and Webster Stanley Elementary schools. Middle school students from Merrill and Webster Stanley will move to the new Vel Phillips Middle School which will open for the start of the 2023-2024 school year. Webster Stanley Elementary School students will attend school at the former Merrill Middle School building while the new elementary school is constructed.
