GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay’s We All Rise unveiled its remodeled African American resource center on Wednesday.
The organization’s $70,000 remodeling project was spearheaded by a group in Leadership Green Bay, joined by Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and the architectural firm CJ & Associates.
We All Rise hopes the remodeled spaces embody the organization’s mission to provide support, resources and advocacy for the African American community. The remodel is intended to transform the center to meet the evolving needs of the community.
“It’s important to have culturally specific services in a community where representation matters,” said We All Rise Executive Director Robin Scott. “It helps to be a part of inclusivity for families. So, being able to deliver services to those who are most marginalized in a community is necessary.”
We All Rise says NWTC helped secure grant funding for new technology and furniture. These upgrades are expected to enhance the organization’s capacity to provide programming, education and resources — including onside preparation for people to earn high school equivalency diplomas.
