MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) — Shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Monday, officers from the Manitowoc Police Department were sent to the Kwik Trip at 1137 S. 10th Street in the City of Manitowoc for a report of an armed robbery in progress.
It was reported to police that two people entered the store and one was armed with a knife. They demanded cash from the register. Once they received an undetermined sum of cash, they fled the store.
Officers arrived and searched the area for the suspects. While searching the area, a witness observed two people hiding behind a business a few blocks from the scene. When officers and the Manitowoc Police Department canine team arrived in the area, they located two individuals matching the description of the suspects from the armed robbery. They were taken into custody and brought to the Manitowoc Police Department for questioning.
The suspects were identified as an 18-year-old Manitowoc man and a 16-year-old Manitowoc girl. They both were charged with Armed Robbery and the male was held at the Manitowoc County Jail. Due to her age, the female was held at the Sheboygan County Juvenile Detention Center.
