GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Wisconsin’s third largest airport is bustling with spring break travelers eager to get to their vacation destination.
From Green Bay’s Austin Straubel International Airport, you can travel to destinations including Orlando, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Denver, and more.
Airport Director, Marty Piette, says passenger travel at GRB increased by over 14% last year.
“Spring break travel is back to normal if not even stronger than before the pandemic,” said Piette. “Leisure travel is what has driven recovery since the pandemic, so it might even be busier now.”
Piette gave a few travel tips to consider when flying:
• Download your airline’s app to track any updates for both your arrival and departing flights.
• Sign up for email or text notifications from your airline. You’ll receive a heads up when things are changing.
• Re-book on the app whenever possible.
• Pay attention to the local news to be aware of any weather changes.
• Keep a change of clothes in your carry-on bag, along with identification, your medications, phone and device chargers, and some snacks.
And, as always, make sure to arrive to your flight about an hour and 30 minutes early.
