BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A group of Bay Port students, past and present, are celebrating a special anniversary Friday.
Bay Port High School’s Vocal Ensemble has celebrated the holidays the same way for the past 30 years — by caroling at the courthouse.
The group, Bay Port’s highest audition choir, held its annual Caroling at the Courthouse Friday in the courthouse rotunda. The current students were joined by alumni of the choir as well.
The tradition began in 1992 under the direction of former choir director Dave Pufall. His son, Michael, is now the choir’s director.
“That was kind of a neat moment to step in when he retired,” said Michael, “and to continue doing what he was doing as best as I can do it and continue some of those traditions and keep them going.”
A third generation of the Pufall family is also a part of the choir, with Michael’s son being a current member of the ensemble.
Apart from the courthouse, Bay Port has also hosted their annual Sacred Concert in the spring for decades.
The group has also performed at Lambeau Field for pre-game celebrations. They will be performing on Monday for the Green Bay Packers game against the Los Angeles Rams.
