GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – An inmate who escaped the Brown County Jail on Labor Day has been captured.
Around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, authorities and a K9 officer were able to take Justin J. Dietrich, 35, into custody. Officials did not provide a location.
Dietrich was not cooperative, deputies say, so a K9 officer was used to assist in the apprehension.
Dietrich was taken to the hospital before being returned to the Brown County Jail.
No officers were injured during the arrest.
The escape itself and charges related to those who assisted Dietrich during his escape or aiding him for the last two days is still under investigation.
Since his escape, authorities say there’s been some changes made relating to the loading dock and kitchen access while the incident is under investigation.
When Dietrich escaped, he exited the loading dock area of the jail and headed east through some farm fields.
The remainder of the facility is operating as normal.
Dietrich was previously held on charges of making and delivery of amphetamines and fentanyl, intending to deliver amphetamines’, maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, alter identity marks as well as fraud.
