GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — A Drug Take Back event is being held this Saturday at Bellin Health and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital.
Laura Alar is the Director of Pharmacy at Bellin and says it’s a much better way to dispose of unwanted drugs.
“It’s much better than putting in the water supply or putting it in the trash or a place where children can get at it,” said Alar.
The drugs turned in to the take-back are properly destroyed.
“They make sure they’re incinerated, and they have a separate receptacle for things that are aerosolized,” Alar told WTAQ.
It will be held between 10 am and 1 pm. The drop offs are at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center at 1726 Shawano Ave. and Bellin Health, at 725 S. Webster Ave.
