OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Masks will continue to be required in Oshkosh Area School District facilities for at least another month.
The district announced Monday that it has extended its face covering requirement for all students, staff and visitors through Feb. 25. The requirement was to expire on Friday.
As has been the case in the past, the district is citing an ongoing rise in COVID-19 cases as the reason for the extension.
“We are committed to monitoring community health trends and adjusting our COVID protocols so that in-person learning can continue,” district superintendent Dr. Bryan Davis said. “These decisions were made with the understanding that we want students to be able to return to school as soon as possible, as long as they are healthy enough to do so, and that our extended face covering requirement provides additional protection that supports an earlier return at this time.”
The district is hiring for multiple positions with immediate start dates and says it has a continued need for substitute teachers and teacher assistants. Anyone with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in any field can be a substitute.
Those who would like to learn more can contact the Oshkosh Area School District’s substitute coordinator at jenni.johnson@oshkosh.k12.wi.us or 1-920-424-1254. For more information about open positions and to apply, visit the district’s website.
