GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Green Bay Police shut down the Leo Frigo bridge, which carries I-43 over the Fox River, for several hours on Thursday after a report of a “suspicious bump” on the crest of the bridge.
Officers say the report was confirmed. The Brown County Highway Department and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation inspected the bridge.
I-43 was is closed between Exits 187 and 189.
Police say that after inspection, it was determined there was no structural problem with the bridge or safety issues with the pavement. WisDOT says the bridge is safe to cross.
