CLINTONVILLE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The homecoming football game at Clintonville High School is canceled because of COVID-19 cases on the opposing team.
Other homecoming activities will continue as planned, however, according to a letter to parents from superintendent Troy Kuhn.
Friday night’s scheduled game was canceled when Peshtigo High School leaders told Clintonville they did not have enough players to field a team. Clintonville school officials said they called around, but could not find a substitute opponent.
Instead of a game, the Clintonville team will play an intrasquad flag football scrimmage at 6:30 p.m. It will include football senior night recognition, introduction of the homecoming court and a band performance.
A parade, tailgate party, soccer game and dance are also going on as scheduled.
